The fun forecast is in – and Spring Carnival is set to deliver another big weekend of racing fun around the country.
At the beautifully refurbished Rosehill Gardens in Sydney, Ronald McDonald House Westmead Golden Pendant Day brings on the girl power – most appropriate at the end of a week when Australia’s favourite mare, Black Caviar, gave birth to a filly. The day features the Women in Racing Lunch, when the sport’s female achievers will celebrate their success. Hosted by Mel McLaughlin, Australian sports presenter from the Seven Network, the lunch is a chance to hear from inspirational women of the industry, including special guest Gai Waterhouse. Tickets can be purchased here.

Elsewhere around the track, a DJ and plenty of pop-ups ensure seamless enjoyment all day long.
On the track itself, some of the country’ best fillies and mares will line up in the feature race, the $400,000 Group 2 Ronald McDonald House Westmead Golden Pendant (1400m). Among these four-legged first ladies are glamour mare First Seal along with Tycoon Tara, Heavens Above and Pearls.

In Victoria, Caulfield is gearing up for a day of vibrant family fun, with Saturday’s Hyland Race Colours Underwood Stakes Day set to draw crowds of all ages. The day’s headline race is the $500,000 Group 1 Hyland Race Colours Underwood Stakes (1800m) in which the country’s best weight-for-age horses will battle it out for early Spring Carnival glory. There’s always a stellar line-up, and this year’s is no exception. Also not to be missed are the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m), Group 2 Thousand Guineas Prelude and Group 3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m).
The David Jones Fashion Stable, Caulfield’s fabulous trackside social hub, will be celebration central, with the chic lounge area and bar the perfect gathering place for a glass of Chandon or Catalina Sounds with your dressed-up squad. Look out for the annual Milliners’ Market, where you can browse gorgeous headgear by the country’s top designers and choose your next showstopper for the Spring Carnival.
This is a day when younger race goers are encouraged to step out in style; it’s the first Clip Clop Club day of the season, with free entry to all members of the Clip Clop Club for little race lovers, as well as rides, face painting, jumping castles, raft and pony rides.
