A Trackside Eve: New Year’s Eve (or Day) at the Races

What better way to bring in the New Year than by warming up with some fun at the track? We’ve sourced the details of racing events around the country to help you decide how to spend the big day.



With Darwin Turf Club offering free entry to general admission on 31st December, you’ll have more left to spend on a flutter and cold beverages this New Year’s Eve. Or if you’re feeling fancy, go for the Ted Bailey Grandstand Luncheon, at just $65 for three courses and grandstand entry it’s a great option for having some sophisticated fun to bring in the New Year.

Why not consider having a slighter quieter New Year’s Eve in order to save yourself for Flemington’s New Year’s Day racing event? The lovely folks at VRC are putting on a BBQ lunch at the James Boag lawn bar, so if you don’t manage to avoid that hangover you can rest assured you’ll be looked after at Flemington on January 1.
