TAB Chipping Norton Stakes Day

The first group 1 race of 2017 (the highest level of thoroughbred racing), and an opportunity to see the famous Winx in action. Royal Randwick will be turning it on with DJs on the decks and drinks on ice.
Girvan Waugh Randwick Guineas Day

Guineas Day includes two group 1 races as things begin to build towards the launch of Sydney Autumn Carnival. Expect a fun day with a DJ spinning jams on the lawn between races, and free entry for UNSW students.
Sat 11 March, Rosehill Gardens
Hurray, the first event of Sydney Carnival 2017 is here! Ladies Day at Rosehill Gardens will feature the best fillies and mares on the track (and off it). Expect elegant fashion and live entertainment.
Longines Golden Slipper Day
Sat 18 March, Rosehill Gardens
Longines Golden Slipper Day is Sydney’s best-known autumn race day, synonymous with prestige and tradition. The headlining race (the Longines Golden Slipper) is a coveted prize, having the highest prize money in the world for a race in its category (think $3.5 million!). Trainer Gai Waterhouse has taken out the title on six previous occasions. It’s also a day of elegant fashion, with the Longines Prize for Elegance competition being held on the day. This is the day at Rosehill Gardens where racing’s finest on and off the track come out to play, so you won’t want to miss this.

As the name suggests, Legends day is about celebrating legends both on and off the track. You may find yourself rubbing shoulders with Sydney’s greatest sports stars, with a number of distinguished guests invited to speak. The prestigious race of the day is The BMW, with prize money of a cool $1.5 million.
The Championships Day 1
Sat 1 April, Royal Randwick
The Championships are the grand finals of Australian racing, with a total prize pot of $20 million over two days of racing. Day 1 includes the $2 million BMW Australian Derby along with the world’s richest mile handicap, the $3 million Star Doncaster Mile. All of those high profile races mean that Sydney’s A-Listers come out to play for an unforgettable day of racing and glamour. A show-stopping success in past years, Little Sydney returns trackside to provide an unforgettable gourmet food experience from Sydney’s finest restaurants. The Championships Day 2

Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day is the second event of the grand finals of Australian racing. The Championships Day 2 boasts the world’s richest 2000m turf race, the $4million Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes, the finale day of The Championships series and Royal Randwick’s best fortnight of racing for the season. Little Sydney returns for the second Saturday in a row, offering the harbour city’s best restaurants trackside. Once again Sydney’s finest socialites will be out to be play, and the fashion will be on-point. Quality DJs and entertainment are guaranteed.

Schweppes All Aged Stakes Day is the party day at Royal Randwick, where we celebrate the carnival coming to an end in true Sydney racing style. Headlined by the Group 1 Schweppes All Aged Stakes, and the not-to-be-missed Group 1 Moët and Chandon Stakes saluting the glamour and fun of Autumn Carnival until next year, with fine fashion, food and entertainment.

Named after the legendary mare whose stellar career consisted of 25 undefeated races, the Black Caviar Lightning is the headliner of the day. Expect world class thoroughbred racing and a taste of Asian culture. (OK so it’s not quite autumn but close enough).
Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes Day

As it’s name suggests, this one’s a huge diamond on the Melbourne racing calendar, with the headlining race boasting a whopping $1.5 million in prize money. Expect the socialites to be out in force at Caulfield looking their best. (Again, shy of autumn by three days but you don’t want to miss this one).
